Rob Reedman has been kind enough to send me this late afternoon shot of 56078 passing Barrow On Trent working 0X60 Crewe TMD To Toton TMD with 60002, 60095, 60047, 60076, 60056 and 66846 in tow on the 10/4/14.
Word has it Colas is to bring the 60s up to scratch for further use, ironically with DBS doing the work!
With the general rundown of the BR/Brush Class 60 locomotive in full swing, plus the wonder of modern technology which is the mobile phone equipped with camera and Blogger, this blog will attempt to keep you informed as to the activities of the Class in its final days/months/years (?). It's also an excuse to have a dip into other items of interest to a typical rail enthusiast and of course, have the occasional rant!
Tugs on the Move
Dredliner
My first go at 4L85 of the year today and not a hint of shutter lag, she weren't hanging around either!
MNR Diesel Gala 4/4/14
The first gala of 2014 yesterday gave me the opportunity to try out a recent 'phone upgrade, now using Sony Xperia Z1.
Whilst the camera and images don't appear to offer much in the way of improvements over the previous model (annoying double imaging issues aside) it does come with a superb image manipulation application, Pixlr Express by the good people at Autodesk.
Obviously a top end camera shouldn't give the need for post picture tweaking, but for getting the best out of a mobile 'phone "snapshot", it really is an excellent product.
