The first gala of 2014 yesterday gave me the opportunity to try out a recent 'phone upgrade, now using Sony Xperia Z1.
Whilst the camera and images don't appear to offer much in the way of improvements over the previous model (annoying double imaging issues aside) it does come with a superb image manipulation application, Pixlr Express by the good people at Autodesk.
Obviously a top end camera shouldn't give the need for post picture tweaking, but for getting the best out of a mobile 'phone "snapshot", it really is an excellent product.
As for the show itself, a heavy overcast all day tested the new camera but did give a chance to try out some different vantage points, usually disregarded when the sun and inherent shadows are apparent.
